The Three Who Rule

The President is the head of The Society and personifies everything it believes in.
Over the centuries many of histories greatest luminaries have been members of the society but few of these have achieved the post of President.
It is one of The Societies greatest beliefs that those who most desire power are usually those least suitable to have it.

The Chancellor is administrator of The Society business managing finances, dealing with ministers and public relations (and how to avoid them).
Within The Chancellors remit is seeking out people with the qualities necessary for potential membership. This can lead to travelling to the farthest flung corners of the empire based on nothing more than a rumour or a hunch. Given this The Chancellor often has the ear of many powerful people in many different places.

The Castellan is enforcer of The Societies decisions and rules.
If a member is ever suspected of behaviour unbecoming of The Society or even worse if their behaviour threatens to bring it into disrepute it is The Castellans duty to negate this problem by whatever means the “three who rule” deem necessary. Given this The Castellan could be seen as an isolated figure amongst Society members but as the upholder of Society laws and values the holder of this post is actually one of the most admired.
